Email Delivery Troubleshooting

Fix email delivery issues and improve deliverability

If you're not receiving form submission emails, this guide will help you identify and fix the issue.

First Steps

Before diving deep, check these common issues:

1

Check Spam/Junk Folder

Emails may be filtered by spam filters. Check your spam, junk, or promotions folder.

2

Verify Email Address

Ensure the email address in your account settings is correct and verified.

3

Check Usage Limits

Verify you haven't exceeded your monthly email limit. Check your dashboard for current usage.

4

Check for Bounces

Look for bounce notifications or delivery failure messages from your email provider.

Spam Folder Issues

If emails are going to spam:

Mark as Not Spam

When you find the email in spam:

  • Mark it as "Not Spam" or "Not Junk"
  • Move it to your inbox
  • Add noreply@staticforms.dev to your contacts
  • Create a filter/rule to always deliver emails from this address

Email Provider Settings

Configure your email provider to trust Static Forms emails:

Gmail

Add noreply@staticforms.dev to your contacts. Create a filter to never send these emails to spam.

Outlook/Hotmail

Add the sender to your Safe Senders list in Outlook settings.

Other Providers

Add the sender to your contacts or whitelist. Check your provider's spam filter settings.

Email Not Arriving

If emails aren't arriving at all:

Verify Account Email

Ensure your account email is correct:

1

Check Account Settings

Go to Settings → Profile and verify your email address.

2

Verify Email

If not verified, check your inbox for a verification email and click the verification link.

3

Update if Needed

If the email is incorrect, update it and verify the new address.

Check Monthly Limits

Verify you haven't exceeded your monthly email limit:

  • Free tier: 500 emails/month
  • Pro tier: 25,000 emails/month
  • Check your dashboard for current usage
  • Limits reset monthly on a rolling basis

Form Submission Status

Verify the form is actually submitting successfully:

  • Check browser Network tab for successful response (200 status)
  • Verify you're not getting error responses
  • Check that spam protection isn't blocking submissions

Deliverability Best Practices

Improve email deliverability:

Add to Contacts

Add noreply@staticforms.dev to your email contacts to prevent filtering.

Create Email Filters

Set up filters/rules in your email client to always deliver Static Forms emails to your inbox.

Check Regularly

Periodically check your spam folder to ensure emails aren't being filtered.

Email Provider Specific Issues

Common issues by provider:

Gmail

  • Check "Promotions" and "Updates" tabs
  • Create a filter to bypass tabs
  • Add sender to contacts

Outlook

  • Check Junk Email folder
  • Add to Safe Senders list
  • Check Focused/Other inbox

Corporate Email

  • Check with IT about spam filter settings
  • Request whitelisting of staticforms.dev domain
  • Check quarantine/spam management tools

Testing Email Delivery

Test if emails are being sent:

1

Submit Test Form

Submit a test form submission with your own email address.

2

Wait a Few Minutes

Emails are typically delivered within seconds, but allow a few minutes for delivery.

3

Check All Folders

Check inbox, spam, junk, promotions, and other folders.

4

Check Dashboard

Verify the submission was successful in your dashboard (if submission storage is enabled).
