reCAPTCHA v2 still works, but I wouldn't start there

Pick based on your abuse level and tolerance for friction:

- Legacy requirement: reCAPTCHA v2 is acceptable, not ideal.

Hardening Your Endpoint Server-Side Validation and Rate Limiting
Client-side defenses are for filtering noise. They are not the trust boundary. Anyone can skip your JavaScript, post directly to the endpoint, and replay requests with their own payloads.
